Sunday Morning Services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.

Our Sunday morning services center around Holy Communion. We open with a hymn and move into the liturgy found in the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. It is a time of corporate worship which can take various forms. There are times where we listen to our priests pray to God, or we join them in prayer. They also will pray for us, and sometime we will join them in praying for ourselves and the Body.

One of the priests will teach on one of the Bible readings for the day which follow the liturgical calendar. It is our experience that directly following Communion, the presence of God is very real and so we offer at time of individual prayer for those who are interested.

At the 8:00 a.m. service we sing traditional hymns. Some of the parts of the liturgy that are sung at the 10:15 a.m. service are said at the 8:00 a.m. service. For example, we say The Lord’s Prayer at the 8:00 a.m. service, but sing it at the 10:15 a.m. service. At the 10:15 a.m. service we have a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary praise and worship. Some of the parts of the liturgy that are said at the 8:00 a.m. service are sung at the 10:15 a.m. service.

We invite you to come and join us as we worship and celebrate our God!

Young Adult Bible Study, Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.

Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, fear, addictions, anger? Is your relationship with God just not where you want it to be? Then this evening is for you. We are a group of people who know what that’s like, and are slowly realizing that it CAN be different.

Tuesday nights starting at 7:00 p.m. the young and young at heart meet at Ron and Susie’s home (4412 NW 12th Place) for an amazing evening. We share a meal, followed by a time of praise and worship. There is then a brief lesson from the Bible before an extended period of prayer ministry.

There are occasionally weeks where we are unable to meet. If you are unsure, call the church office at 352.377.1423.

Come and see that the Lord is good!

Wonderful Wednesday Dinner and Bible Study

We invite you to come join us for a wonderful time of food, fellowship and study Wednesday nights starting at 6:00 p.m. The first Wednesday of every month we have a wonderful dinner prepared and served by members of St. Andrew’s. It could be beef stew, lasagna, fried chicken, or one of a hundred other delicious meals complete with drinks, sides and dessert.

The cost is $4 per adult, $1 for children ages 4-12, and children under 4 are free. We will serve dinner every week between now and Ash Wednesday, 2/25/09. There will be no dinner during the Lenten season.

Then, every week at 7:00 p.m., we’ll have an in-depth Bible study led by Canon Ron Kuykendall or one of our other priests (Father Nahum Beard or Father Patrick Kee). Following the study there will be a time of prayer ministry for anyone who’s interested.

Come to the dinner, the Bible Study, or both. It is not necessary that you attend both events.

Hope to see you soon!

Soaking Prayer, Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m.

Every Thursday night starting at 7:00 p.m., we open up the church for a time of Soaking Prayer. We invite you to come and stay as long as you like; some may need to leave early and that’s entirely acceptable.

What is "soaking prayer"? We have light praise music on, you find a spot on the chairs or a piece of floor to lie down on (bring a pillow and/or blanket for your comfort), and invite the Holy Spirit to minister and speak to you. There may be times when someone comes by and prays for you as well, sometimes while laying on of hands, with one’s permission.

Many times in prayer we talk a lot and fail to listen. This is a time of intentionally quieting yourself. You can read the Bible, journal, or even fall asleep (God's covenant with Abraham occurred while Abraham was sleeping - see Genesis 15:12). Our society runs at a fast pace, and this is a time to slow down. If God is truly our friend, and friends need time together, then "this" is "that" time. Remember, if grace is really not about doing, come over and "not do" for God; merely rest and let Him do for you.

After the time of Soaking we will have someone share a brief message (often a devotional reading or short teaching) and then have time for focused prayer ministry. If there are issues that got stirred up during your one-on-one with God, this is an excellent time to start addressing them.

Unfortunately, because of the nature of the evening, we are not able to provide child care.

Come join us and experience the transformative Presence of God!
